Lineup (4-1-2-3)

Igor Akinfeev · Thomas Vermaelen · Laurent Koscielny · Emmanuel Eboué · Gaël Clichy · Alex Song · Cesc Fàbregas · Samir Nasri · Andrei Arshavin · Robin van Persie · Marouane Chamakh

The formation provides a large amount of space for the squad to create chances but also leaves enough for them to be able to get back and defend.

Igor Akinfeev will easily be one of the best goalkeepers in the world within a few years, and has even stated his desire to move to Arsenal where he will be with his international team-mate, Andrei Arshavin.

The wing-backs are excellent because they are both strong in defence, but can also run up and put decent attacking balls in.

Alex Song has recently shown great progress in his lonely, defensive position and will also soon be one of the best at what he does.

Samir Nasri and Cesc are both attacking minded players and in this formation, will work better pushing forward from deep where they can either set up an opportunity for the forwards, or take it on themselves.

The front three are perfect because while they are all essentially playmakers; they all give Arsenal something unique.

Andrei Arshavin is all about speed and technical ability; he will be able to dribble it around the opposition in order to place his shot.

Robin van Persie is a technically-skilled player, and one who is brilliant at working with the other strikers in order to get the ball in the back of the net.

Marouane Chamakh is a very physically strong player, and with a good ball from either of the other two, could barge through most defences to score.
