The players chosen have that international experience required and are playing regular first team football fopr their clubs, so they have been chosen ahead of those players without regular club appearence.

4-1-4-1 gives the team a defensive mindset (using a defensive midfielder) with counter attacking capabilities using two wide men who posess good crossing, long distance shooting and dribbling attributes. Having a tall target man utilitzes the drilled or floated crossing into the box.
