West Ham United Football Formation
Lineup (4-2-3-1)
Joe Hart · Chris Smalling · Rio Ferdinand · Kyle Walker · Leighton Baines · Scott Parker · Steven Gerrard · Tom Cleverley · James Milner · Alex Oxlade · Theo WalcottFrom left to right:
I believe that Leighton Baines has replaced Ashley Cole as the best Englishman for the LWB position. He shows much more attacking intend and is often seen deep in the opposing half running the ball up and crossing it in. For the time being however I would like to keep A. Cole on the bench.
I have a very high opinion of Rio Ferdinand and favor him greatly for the CB position for the starting XI due to his mounds of experience and overall performance over the years. I believe he has earned a right to it.
Chris Smalling and Kyle Walker I have chosen over players such as John Terry and Joleon Lescott. John Terry I have left off the squad due to his case off racial discrimination as I do not want anyone like that representing the country whether it be true or not. I also believe the 2 players are slightly overrated.
Scott Parker and Steven Gerrard in the middle of the park with Gerrard wearing the captain's armband. The sheer experience that both Gerrard and Ferdinand have makes them both good choices for team captains therefore I would be more inclined to pick 1 of the 2 over any other player on the squad.
James Milner has proven himself to be worthy of his place flanking to the left and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has risen through the ranks to be arguably as good as, or almost as good as his team mate Theo Walcott who is now experimenting with the center forward position.
Tom Cleverly to go behind the the forward acting as play-maker center attacking midfield. Although still young I believe he has great potential.
