Italy "Victorious XI" (1982)

The gritty Italian side playing Cateneccio style found rhythm as the tournament progressed, and in the quarter-final they managed to defeat the crowd favourite Brazil who were blamed for complacency and of being spoilt with excess of talents. Once Brazil was conquered thanks to Paolo Rossi hattrick, the Italian team gained confidence, and riding on Rossi-power went on to win the World Cup.
