Lineup (5-4-1)

Defensive oriented: Mostly used for team with not a lot of individual talent but great athletes. Speed on the wings a must. Best players usually will play sweeper or center mids.

GK: Need to have good positioning. Be aggressive but know things will be crowded so need to commit when coming out.
DEF: The sweeper needs to control his defense, especially the two backs that flank him on either side. Needs to be able to cover space as well as communicate to not only defenders but the midfield as well. Center backs must stay compact always ready to cover for each other. Wing backs must be able to not only stretch opposing defense but also track back to help compact opposing offense.
MID: Center mids (also can be holding mids) must be able to distribute to all players. They control flow of game; slow down opposing fastbreak as well as set up offense through fastbreak or settle down and knock around the ball. Outside mids need to stretch field. Be able to play off striker and make runs. May also need to cover for wing backs.
ST: Offense runs through him/her. Target man, distributer, finisher. Doesn't have to be technically sound but has to know situations and be able to connect with the mids. Speed not a huge factor but the bigger and stronger the better.

Training: Focus on fastbreak plays and crossing as team. Play in space and play off each other. Defense should work on closing space, 2nd defender drills and man marking. Mids need to be able to connect so short passing drills in compact space a must. Striker needs to be good in the air and be physical. Must finish opportunities.
