Notes: At the 43 mn of the first half, Schöttel received his second yellow card of the tournament, which banned him to play the Round Of 16 Game from the Knockout Stage in case Austria had won this game
Austria had to win this game in order to nullify any unfavorable outcome from the other final group stage game between Chile and Cameroon, specially a win with a good advantage as Chile could still get ahead of them as they also had scored more than Austria since the Chileans had previously drawn 2-2 against Italy
Austria managed the rare feat of scoring all of their goals at the Group Stage during the injury time of each second half when at the 92nd minute Herzog scored from a penalty awarded after Italy's Costacurta fouled Reinmayr inside the penalty box, their other late goals were scored by Polster against Cameroon at the 91st minute and by Vastić against Chile at the 92nd minute
