It may lack pace but by putting 5 in midfield it creates the opportunity to develop a more patient and purposeful buildup and build more creative combinations to breakdown the defence.

Those on the bench can be added strategically to alter the formation back to the 4-2-3-1 if needed while not expending tired legs for a full 90.
