DESCIRPTION

With no major injury concerns and a near-perfect preparation there is a feeling that this Croatia side could emulate the semi-finalists of 1998. The highly rated attacking duo of Lopez and Checovich play together at the club level, and have established a strong bond: expect almost telepathic displays of coordination and breaking between the lines. Eisner and Hu represent the veterans of the team, a playmaker and a holding midfielder forming the spine of the attack. With defensive wingers Koelling and Hoogstra make this a hard team to break down on the counter-attack, and the back four has been traditionally solid (Diego, Tretter, Heneghan, and Garcia-Arena). New addition Salvato will be hoping to make an impact in his first international call up!

Unlike previous Croatia teams, this team has depth. Their substitutes bench includes Clifford, Carney, and Ricciardi and we should expect these experienced and skilled players to be used as impact substitutes from the very start of the competition!
