Lineup (4-4-2)

Klinsmann seems set on a 4-4-2 formation, with a diamond set-up in the middle. Using this formation, we have set up what we feel would be the best line-up for this formation.

Howard is the starter (duh) and Jones and Bradley are the best central midfielders on the squad. Bedoya and Dempsey as the wide midfielders would give the U.S. the best chance to create chances for Altidore and Johannsson. If you play Dempsey as a striker, you lose his creativity, something the Americans are lacking in the midfield.

In the back, Gonzalez and Cameron provide the most solid pair available, good aerial play and Gonzalez is smooth with the ball at his feet.

Johnson provides an added threat when he pushed forward, and he brings plenty of pace. Beasley is has pace and experience, something this back-line badly needs.
